Did you just give birth? Do you feel like your body has changed?
The 3 months after giving birth is a crucial time for mom and baby. Often, the focus is only on the new baby, but moms need to care for themselves and recover properly so they can feel their best and prevent major health problems down the road. This recovery is done best with the guidance of a Physical Therapist to help resolve and prevent pain, organ prolapse, and leaking with coughing and sneezing.
Participants of this class will receive a movement, muscle, and joint screen by a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in the pregnant and postpartum woman. Participants will complete four weekly group-based classes designed to help them re-connect with their breath, abdominal muscles, and pelvic floor. Classes will be tailored to the participants with individual focus given to each woman’s recovery. Participants will learn how to properly engage their deep abdominal muscles and pelvic floor to prevent and resolve pain and incontinence, regain their balance, and learn techniques/exercises to prevent mastitis. Participants will regain confidence in their movement and bodies to bridge the gap between childbirth and return to work, fitness, and parenting.
Classes will be held on May 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 9 am to 10 am
